What Does Rewilding Mean To Us?

To us, Rewilding doesn’t just mean using natural products, but it also mean giving your heart and soul back to the land that has created you. Society has pulled us away from the natural rhythms of life on earth. We see it as our responsibility to rectify our relationship with the land, with the food and supplements that grow all around us. Our food has become unsustainable, our medicine is made to mask symptoms, not to keep us healthy. We understand there is a need for some western medicines, and they can have miraculous results at times. But not all ailments call for a pill. Some call for mother earth and the natural healing remedies she can provide. Rewinding Farm’s life mission is to share this knowledge with those that are willing to listen, in hopes that more of us come home and embrace the natural world for how amazing it truly is.

Who we are

Erin and Jay have been life partners since the day they met. They were both in corporate sales jobs, struggling day to day with the lives they were leading. They were hungry to break free from the rat race, and finally put all their eggs in the same basket to create Rewilding Farm! Neither of us come from farming lineage, other than family gardens, but have been obsessed with the lifestyle ever since their first chickens were brought onto the property. They now stay out of the grocery store as much as possible and rely heavily on feeding their family from what is grown on their farm or other farms in their community. Learn more about both Erin and Jay below!

Erin

Erin grew up in New Jersey and Utah, but found her way to Maine and realized that this was her forever home. She specializes on our farm creating medicinal remedies that keep her family out of the doctors office as much as possible. All of her remedies are made alcohol-free as she relies on these remedies for her childrenher husband, animals and herself. She has been free of alcohol for six years now - and won’t go back. She assists in most building projects on and offsite and is quite handy with a chainsaw. She studies herbs religiously, loves to walk in the woods to see what be opportunities are growing on site, and is fluent in the language of all the birds on the farm!

Jay

Jay grew up on the Coast of Maine and left the state briefly, only to realize he was born in heaven on Earth and returned as soon as possible. He builds and designs gardens and barns and has recently built a sauna on property to aid in his family’s health. While running multiple saw mills on site, he is able to harvest trees locally and create new buildings for both his farm and others while staying out of the lumber store. He studies mycology and grows mushrooms annually. You can find him picking grasses out of the garden while walking barefoot, or talking about his next build plans with the turkeys and cats.
