For Your health

We make stuff…stuff to help keep you out of the doctor’s office. Are we doctors? Absolutely not. Is what we make approved by the FDA? Nope. Then why would you use it - you ask. Well our answer is…if you want to help keep yourself healthy, and take care of minor issues prior to booking an appointment with your doctor - you can try these first. We use this wildcrafted medicine that has been used for thousands of years (prior to the FDA coming along) to keep communities healthy. BTW…where do you think our current medical system has synthesized their medicine from? You’re right…plants found in nature. Do we think doctors and nurses are great? YES!! Modern medicine is fantastic, and if we have an emergency - we are utilizing those services.

Our tinctures are made with glycerin and apple cider vinegar - never alcohol! We use tinctures and salves for our animals, ourselves and our children. For example, I’ve used corn silk tincture to take care of a UTI. I’ve used Usnea for ear infections for our dogs as well as myself and for a staph infection! We take daily Chaga, Reishi, and Turkey Tail tincture for immunity support. These mushrooms also have good results in studies to help fight cancer.

If you have questions - please ask - we love to share the information we have, and what we learn!

Do you want to learn how to make your own tinctures, teas, and salves? Unsure of how to start foraging on your own? We can help!

Yes - for the foreseeable future, I will continue to handwrite my labels - printing labels is expensive! I have added a list of what is currently available in the cabinet. Please reach out if you’re interested in tinctures and salves, and we can work on your order.

Available Tinctures:

  • Usnea: “old man’s beard,” is a lichen used to help fight off bacteria and viruses, especially for ear infections, skin issues, sore throats and coughs. It supports the immune system and can be helpful for infections. People sometimes use it for wounds as well because of its cleansing properties.

  • Calendula:  a bright orange flower known for soothing irritated skin, speeding up the healing of cuts and scrapes, and easing diaper rash. It has gentle anti-inflammatory properties and can also help calm an upset stomach. Calendula is often found in creams and balms for skin health.

  • Rosemary: improves memory and concentration, while also supporting healthy circulation. It’s an antioxidant-rich herb that can help with headaches and boost energy. Many people love its fresh scent, and it’s commonly used in both food and herbal medicine.

  • Sage: most known for helping to ease sore throats and mouth infections, often being used as a gargle or mouth rinse. It may also help balance hormones and manage hot flashes. Sage’s strong flavor makes it a favorite in cooking as well.

  • Mint: cooling and refreshing, making it great for settling nausea, relieving headaches, and calming an upset stomach. It can help with stuffy noses and improve breath. Its crisp taste is popular in teas, candies, and even home remedies for minor pains.

  • Corn Silk: used for urinary tract health and to reduce swelling and irritation in the bladder. It’s a gentle diuretic, which means it helps your body get rid of extra water. Corn silk can also help soothe minor inflammation.

  • Yarrow: promotes wound healing and can stop minor bleeding quickly, making it useful for first aid. It reduces inflammation and supports the body during fevers and colds. Some even use it for digestive issues.

  • Mullein: soothes coughs, sore throats, and chest congestion. It acts as an expectorant, helping clear out mucus from the lungs. People have also used it as a poultice (a soft, moist mass) for swelling and pain.

  • Mugwort: can calm the nerves and support better sleep, particularly for those with anxiety or vivid dreams. It also aids digestion and soothes menstrual cramps, and menopause. Traditionally, it’s been used to encourage regular cycles. Women who are pregnant are advised against using Mugwort as it can cause bleeding.

  • Goldenrod: excellent for allergies, hay fever, and supporting the urinary system. It helps reduce inflammation and acts as a mild diuretic. Goldenrod is also used for sore throats and muscle soreness. Golden rod is great for muscle and joint aches in salve form.

  • Violet: leaves and flowers are soothing for irritated skin, minor burns, and dry coughs. It can help support the lymphatic system (which moves waste out of the body). Violet is sometimes taken for mild respiratory infections.

  • Burdock: cleanses the blood and boosts liver function, supporting the body’s natural detox processes. It’s good for skin conditions like acne and eczema. Burdock also has mild anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

  • Dandelion: a bitter herb that helps the liver process toxins and improves digestion. The leaves are diuretic, while the root is helpful for supporting the gallbladder. Dandelion can also improve appetite and alleviate bloating.

  • Purple Dead Nettle: This mild, nutritious herb supports the body during inflammation and minor allergies. Purple dead nettle is rich in vitamins and can be added to food or tea. It’s also sometimes used to soothe minor wounds.

  • Lilac: best known for its calming scent and can help lower fevers or settle nerves. The flowers are sometimes made into teas for their relaxing effects. Lilac may also soothe sore muscles.

  • Chaga: a mushroom loaded with antioxidants that help protect cells from damage and can strengthen the immune system. It’s being studied for its possible benefits against inflammation and chronic illness. Chaga is often brewed as a tea or taken as a tincture.

  • Reishi: nicknamed the “Mushroom of Immortality,” supports immune health, helps the body handle stress, and can improve sleep. It may also balance blood sugar and lower inflammation. Reishi is popular in traditional medicine for increasing vitality.

  • Ghost Pipe: sometimes used in very small doses for severe pain, especially nerve pain. It acts as a powerful nervine, which calms the nervous system. Because it’s so strong, it should be used with caution.

  • Horsetail: high in silica, which helps strengthen bones, hair, nails, and even connective tissue. It acts as a gentle diuretic and supports recovery from fractures. Some people use horsetail for brittle nails and slow-healing wounds.

  • Wild Lettuce: sometimes called “lettuce opium” because it can help with sleep and reduce pain. It’s mildly sedative and can calm nerves or anxiety. Wild lettuce is useful for headaches and muscle aches.

  • Clear Weed: soothes irritated tissues, especially when applied to the skin during rashes or redness. It’s very gentle and sometimes used for mild inflammation. This plant is soft and moist, making it good for cooling and calming.

  • Fleabane: used for mild coughs, as an astringent (tightens tissues), and to help the body get rid of extra water. It’s been used in teas for cold or flu symptoms. Fleabane is a delicate plant that grows in the wild.

  • Borage: It is best known for having anti-inflammatory effects, which can help calm swelling and irritation, especially with things like joint or skin problems. Traditionally, it's also considered a "courage herb" because it may help ease anxiety, stress, and tired nerves to give you a feeling of calm. The tincture can also help with respiratory issues like coughs and colds by soothing your airways. Finally, it may help support healthy skin and act as a diuretic, which helps flush excess water from your system.

  • Japanese meadowsweet: tincture is a natural herbal remedy that people sometimes use to soothe upset stomachs and ease mild swelling or joint discomfort.
